About The Author

Stephen Fife - Just who is this wanker anyway? Well, his writings have appeared in The Sunday New York Times , Village Voice , New Republic , New York Newsday , American Theater , and many other publications (most now-defunct). He's a graduate of Columbia's MFA Playwrights program, and his plays have been done in NYC at Jewish Rep, Playhouse 91, Primary Stages, Circle Rep Lab, La Mama, Theater for the New City, the Samuel Beckett Theater, and many other venues (most now-defunct). Break of Day , his play about van Gogh's early career, was given a Hollywood production that prompted one perceptive critic to write: “It leads lovers of theater to have hope that there is a future for brilliant writers.” Regarding his most recent play, New Day , New York Magazine wrote: “This play is primed for Broadway.” (Number of calls from Broadway producers: zero.) He's also written screenplays, teleplays, essays, poems, is working on a novel, and is the literary guy at Pacific Stages, a new LA-based theatrical venture. He is the proud Dad of a young daughter and in his spare time he trolls Tinseltown for decent Chinese food.
